Covid-19 Update

Message from Jan Kidd and Linda Turner (co-chairs) on behalf of the Steering Committee
Firstly, we hope that you are all safe and well and coping with the restrictions to your daily
life. It is a difficult time for everyone but eventually we will return to some form of normality.
It is with this in mind that the Steering Group have been giving some thought to how and
when we might resume our usual programme of events.
We feel that the overriding consideration is that we follow government guidelines in
ensuring the safety and well-being of our members, and at the time of writing those do not
allow us to resume organised events. We also feel that given the age band of our
membership we should be erring on the side of caution and wait to see if easing of
restrictions brings a second wave of cases.
With this in mind we do not expect any activities to begin before late July or early August
and maybe even later. The Steering Group will be meeting (possibly via Zoom) to try and
plan a roadmap to ‘restarting’, looking at which activities we think may be possible, and we
will share those decisions with you.
Meanwhile we would like to encourage you to continue to enjoy your local wildlife be it in
your garden or local area and to send in your records to the Societies observer scheme.
Anyone who is willing to join and not sure about what it requires should ask Karen Cowley
