Events

Rochdale Field Naturalists have a varied programme of events.
We have talks taking place from September to April and coach trips, car trips, and walks throughout the year.
We also carry out surveys and from time to time put on special events.

The Events Calendar shows all our planned events and is regularly updated.
You’ll find it on the left side of every page of our website when viewed on a PC, or scroll down the page on a smartphone.Just click on an event to see more details.
You can click/tap the link at the bottom of the event details to copy it to your personal Google calendar, or, better still, if it appears on your system use the ‘+’ link at the foot of the calendar widget to subscribe to the calendar so RFNS events show automatically on your personal Google or phone calendar.

We also support the fantastic work of local like-minded volunteer groups such as Stoney Hill.
You will find some information about their events on our calendar, though we can take no responsibility for their activities and you should always contact them directly for up to date information.

There’s a Rolling Programme on the website of RFNS events, too, so you can easily see what’s coming up.

Talks take place during the winter months at the Cutgate Baptist Church, next to the Cutgate shopping precinct on Edenfield Road, Rochdale OL11 5AQ.
Doors open around 7.00 pm for a 7.30 pm start.
Talks cost £4 for members, £5 for non-members, including light refreshments.
There is ample free parking at the shopping centre. See Map

Coach or car trips are usually on the second Saturday of the month.
We are currently meeting at Morrison’s car park in Heywood. Post code OL10 4PN.

Departure time is usually 9.00am returning at 5.00pm, or 4.00pm in winter (Nov – Feb). Coach trips cost £20 per person.  On car trips you are asked to share petrol costs.

Friends, acquaintances, and family of members are welcome but booking on coach trips is essential.  To book a place on the coach all you need to do is pay in advance by BACS, making sure that you put COACH and the month of the trip in the reference section, or the trip destination. This is so that the treasurer knows what you are paying for. There is no need to put your name in the reference part as that automatically comes on the statement (unless you bank under a different name in which case you should let the treasurer know by emailing rfnstreasurer@gmail.com). If you do not indicate what the payment is for you won’t be booked on the coach. If you need confirmation of your booking please email the treasurer at time of payment..

If, in exceptional cases, you find it difficult to pay in advance, then you can email the treasurer rfnstreasurer@gmail.com to say you will pay on the coach. This can be by cash or card but not by cheque.
