Fancy seeing a Bittern or a Deer Shield fungi or even a Deer? Then join us on our coach trip to Potteric Carr, near Doncaster, Yorkshire, on Saturday 10th October.
Of course, there’s no guarantee you’ll see these but Potteric Carr is practically exploding with wildlife all year round. Over 230 species of birds, 28 species of butterfly and 21 species of dragonfly have been recorded here. This is alongside regularly-seen stoats, grass snakes, roe deer and a colourful array of wildflowers and, at this time of year fungi. You can check out the latest sightings on their Facebook page Potteric Carr Wildlife Sightings | Facebook
The date coincides with Fungi Fest, with lots of fungi related activities (although we’ll probably arrive too late to join most of these). There will however be experts from the Mid Yorkshire Fungus group as well as the Wildlife Trust staff on hand to chat to about all things Fungi. The information station will be free to drop in and visit all throughout Fungi Fest weekend. Check out the website for details Fungi Fest | Yorkshire Wildlife Trust
