Saturday saw another very successful peregrine watch with more than 150 people stopping to look through the scopes at the birds on the Town Hall and St Chads Church. It was very uplifting to see the enthusiasm and joy in people who are so pleased that the birds have nested here in Rochdale. All kinds of passersby, of all ages and from several countries, were interested. Both the two adults and three chicks, which are now out of the nest and learning to fly and hunt, were seen. Wildlife photographer James McAvady kindly shared some of his photos with us. Thanks to Roger for organising the event and for Pete, Joan and Jan turning up with their scopes. Thanks also to the other field nats who showed up to help.
