It seems that we are getting more records of some species since many of us got trail cams and audio tracking devices for Bats – previously every Bat was listed as Pip sp. and few of us knew if we had hedgehogs or ferrets taking the food!Some species are so common we forget to record them – rabbits and squirrels – which gives a misleading picture. (The mammal society say they have more polecat records than rabbits!!). However none of us would forget a Brown Hare, so those numbers are more worrying.
